1 FIPS 140-3 certificate is a Rebrand, 22 of the FIPS 140-2 certificates are Rebrands — making up 16% of the total FIPS 140 certificates issued so far in 2024.
Security Level 1 certificates account for 78% of the total in 2024 (January-September).
57% of the certificates are software; 30% are hardware.
65 of the 100 certificates posted from July-Sept 2024 are interim validations. To reach the 200 mark, the CMVP will need to post 58 additional FIPS 140 certificates before the end of the year.
