A total of 249 FIPS 140 certificates were posted in the first half of 2026 — 245 FIPS 140-3 certs. and 4 FIPS 140-2 certs. Rebrands accounted for 41% of all certificates issued.
Rebrands surged from 29% of total FIPS 140 certificates in 2025 to 41% in the first half of 2026.
Security Level 1 accounted for 82% of all FIPS 140 certificates in the first half of 2026.
With 249 FIPS 140 certificates posted in the first half of 2026, the CMVP remains on pace this year for the most certificates in program history.
